In today’s interview, journalist Michael Scott Moore details his harrowing experience being held captive by Somali pirates for 2 years, he also jokes about Somali pirates watching Captain Phillips, and answers the question - how corrupt is Somalia? Thankfully this is a story of survival but reporting from conflict zones will always be dangerous.


Micheal Scott Moore has many critics asking where should journalists draw the line and some even claiming that he had no business taking such risks and didn’t deserve aid. Personally, I disagree - if reporters like Micheal Scott Moore decide to avoid “dangerous” places, how many important stories will go untold?

Tim Chantarangsu: So You Want To Be A YouTuber?

How to get started on YouTube, how to start a YouTube channel in 2021, and how to be a YouTuber? To answer those big questions, I spoke to Tim Chantarangsu (formerly Timothy DeLaGhetto) about YouTuber trends, YouTube creator advice, and his thoughts on viral content creation. We also talked about his infamous Wild N Out episode with Azealia Banks, his appearance in the Drake x Justin Bieber music video, and went in-depth on his move retiring the name "Timothy DeLaGhetto".


There are a lot of videos out there that claim to tell you how to become a famous YouTuber or how much money a YouTuber makes but very few people have actually done what they’re advising. Tim Chantarangsu is a reputable voice because he’s been a successful content creator for well over a decade.




Important note - Tim is a real-life friend and mentor of mine for as long as I could remember, so this interview was much more casual than my typical episodes and this was the first episode I ever recorded so I apologize for any poor audio moments or errors. Donald Hoffman: Scientist Proves Why Reality Is... “False”?

Do we see reality as it is, do we exist inside the story that the brain tells itself, are we living in a simulation? Those are some of life’s biggest philosophical questions, thankfully Cognitive scientist Donald Hoffman helps explain all of the above including the case against reality, the conscious agent theory, and if reality is “false”. I initially called Donald Hoffman after watching his Ted Talk “Do we see reality as it is?” to discuss the simulation argument, is reality real, and if A.I. superintelligence can construct reality for us.


Most of us are pretty certain that we see reality “as it is” but Donald Hoffman suggests that mathematical models based on evolution by natural selection suggest that our strongest intuitions may be false. Donald believes that evolution gave us the equivalent of a computer interface that “hides” the real truth from us (ex: pixels, code, electrical voltages, etc) so that we can take action easily. We also covered the nature of consciousness, free will, synesthesia, the issues with space-time, causality, the self, and much more.



This was a mind-blowing talk and I tried to keep up the best I can, I hope you enjoy it!
